Section 1. The member must be in his/her last two years in high school.
Section 2. The member must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 90 on a 100 point scale. This excludes any honors or AP points.
Section 3. The member must be enrolled in at least two honors or upper level science courses either during or prior to the eleventh grade year.
Section 4. Junior members must have completed three science courses or be currently enrolled in the third science course. Senior members must have completed four science courses or be currently enrolled in the fourth science course.
Section 5. The member must maintain a grade of 90% or higher across all science courses taken for high school credit. This excludes any honors points or AP points.
Special consideration may be given to students that take multiple higher level science courses in one semester.
Section 6. The member must pass six courses per semester. Any student who does not pass six courses per semester will be dismissed.
Section 7. A student that does not meet the criteria stated above (Sections 2-6) may be eligible for membership if he or she is a member in good standing of the Science Olympiad Team, the Robotics Team or has competed in the Georgia State Science and Engineering Fair at the local, district or state level.
Section 8. The member must maintain behavior that is acceptable to the guidelines of Milton High School.
Section 9. The member must attend 75% of chapter meetings, field trips, events, and activities.
Section 10. All members must attend at least one Chapter officer’s lecture annually. Regular members also hold the right to give lectures regarding a scientific topic approved by the Chapter advisor.
Section 11. Each member is required to pay a minimal annual due of $5.00 not to exceed $15.00. Additional expenses may be required for field trips, transportation or other things deemed necessary by the Chapter advisor and administration.
Section 12. Failure to uphold and maintain membership requirements may result in probation or dismissal from the chapter.
